South Health Campus, Canada

South Health Campus, Calgary, Canada - The main building of the medical facility, situated south-west of Calgary, features two basement and eight upper levels each with around 20,000 m² of slab area.
South Health Campus, Calgary, Canada - Deflections during concreting are recorded by sensors and automatically compensated with the help of hydraulic cylinders.
South Health Campus, Calgary, Canada - Specially-designed trolleys allow easy and quick moving operations in both longitudinal and lateral directions by hand. Prior to this, the load on the tables was hydraulically released, and the tables were then gently lowered.
South Health Campus, Calgary, Canada - The landing platform, consisting of PERI system components, was used to move the slab tables to the next level.
South Health Campus, Calgary, Canada - The up to 30 cm thick storey slabs were supported on 762 square-shaped reinforced concrete columns. Using 57 slab tables, an area totalling 2,800 m² could be realized every week.

The PERI solution helps us to save 30 - 40 % of work effort so that we are able to work very efficiently. What is more, we only need four instead of the six cranes that were originally planned.

  • 57 special tables with 90 m², based on standard components with only 4 corner supports without intermediate supports
  • load transfer via existing reinforced concrete columns
  • DCS system (deflection compensating system) automatically compensates for the deflections occurring during pouring
  • special transportation trolleys for easy and fast manual moving in vertical and horizontal directions
